TROUBLESHOOTING / COMMON ISSUES:

Light Bar Housing is bending or bowing outward

Example

Solution: If the Light Bar is pushed too hard against the grill while the holes are drilled, the pressure can cause the front to bow outward when the plastic get's heated by the sun - The simple solution to this is to remove the light bar, trim out a small amount of strain relief in each bolt hole on the Light Bar Housing, re-install & allow the Light Bar to settle in it's natural position, then re-tighten the bolts. This will alleviate any pressure and prevent bowing of the plastic. Example below:

Light Bar not powering on:

  • Double check to ensure connector is plugged in properly

  • If using Switch Harness - Ensure battery cables are connected securely & switch LED indicator is illuminated - Relay should make a "Clicking" sound when the switch button is pressed

  • If wiring to AUX - Ensure connection whether butt connector or solder is done properly

  • Light bar has condensation- see photo below for example of condensation

There is a valve on the back of the lightbar that can be opened to allow it to outgas. See photo below of the silver knob that can be opened by using a flathead screwdriver

    • The lightbar will need to be removed from the vehicle to get to this valve

  • Light Bar Housing Cracked:

  • These kinds of breaks are a result of either overtightening the bolts or misaligning the holes drilled into the bumper, causing twisting pressure on the housing which will eventually cause it to crack. A small amount of strain relief in each bolt hole on the Light Bar Housing should be trimmed before re-installing.

  • Lost Hardware? This is an m8-1.25 Riv Nut and Compression Bolt that can be sourced locally.

  • Light Bar is Aimed Too High - you can adjust the light bar down a couple degrees, but the housing will not allow much more than that. The projection of the RAM light bar is a mixed beam with 8 of the LEDs using a flood (45° angle) beam and 12 of the LEDs using a spot (25° angle) beam with an average Apex Angle of 33°. The flood beam angle will make it seem like these are aiming higher than it is.
