Product Insights

To determine the correct headlamp type for your vehicle, the simplest way is to check your existing bulb. This will confirm the exact replacement you need, or whether it's replaceable at all.

  • Vehicles originally equipped with HID Bulbs use specific bulb sizes that can only be swapped with HID bulbs; LED bulbs are not interchangeable.

  • Vehicles initially equipped with Halogen (Incandescent) Bulbs typically use standard bulb sizes and can be upgraded to HID or LED.

  • Vehicles equipped with factory LED Headlamps are often not upgradeable due to their built-in construction; they don't have a serviceable bulb.

  • For vehicles with BIXENON, which features dual-beam headlights using HID for both low and high beams, we strongly recommend using the BIXENON harness designated by headlight bulb size. You can find this harness included in the kit. For more information, visit our HID FAQ page here.

  • Each kit includes 2 bulbs and 2 ballasts, with the part numbers specified in the kit under NS.

Choosing the Right Fit

The correct HID kit size is determined by the Year, Make, and Model of your vehicle. To identify the exact size, please use a bulb finder tool available at Philips Automotive Bulb Finder. If you're uncertain about the size, don't hesitate to ask the customer for it, or they can refer to the front etching of their headlight or their owner’s manual.

Troubleshooting

  • One Side Not Working or Flickering: If one side of your vehicle is not functioning correctly or is flickering, we recommend moving the ballast from the working side to the non-working side. If this resolves the issue, it indicates the need for a replacement ballast. In this case, we can help by sending you an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and a return label to facilitate the return process. Since this concerns a headlight bulb, we offer advanced warranty options.

  • Both Sides Not Working: If neither side of your vehicle is functioning, we suggest testing the relay, which is usually available from local sources. Should the relay be defective and you prefer us to ship the part, we can send you part number #6111-504 at no cost, but please note that you'll be responsible for the shipping charges.

  • New Bulb Doesn't Match the Old Bulb: Over time, HID bulbs can develop a bluer hue as they age due to normal wear-and-tear. If the replacement bulb's color doesn't match the older one already in your vehicle, it's not considered a warranty issue or a manufacturer's defect.
