Article summary

  1. Determining Lamp Type:

    • To distinguish between LED and Halogen tail lamps, check the position of the Reverse Lamp:

      • LED: Reverse Lamp is in the center of the lamp.

      • Halogen: Reverse Lamp is at the bottom of the lamp.

  2. Plug Connection Difficulty:

    • If you're having trouble connecting the plug, exert more force to securely lock the Weather-Pack Connector in place.

  3. Tail Light Fitment Concern:

    • To ensure proper fitment around the body and avoid uneven gaps:

      • Position the tail-light flush with the body panel on all sides.

      • While holding it in place, fasten each bolt, taking care not to overtighten.

      • If uneven gaps persist, slightly loosen the top bolt, push the top of the light in, and fasten it. Repeat for the bottom.

  4. Reverse Lights Staying On:

    • If your reverse lights are constantly on due to the installation of a Z-Automotive Tazer Mini, you can turn them off by pressing the lock button.

  5. Both Turn Signals Not Flashing & Signal Out Error:

    • If both turn signals aren't flashing, and you see a signal out error message, it may be due to having an Export Jeep (Non-US Spec). To identify it:

      • Check if your Jeep is an EU/Export model with a separate amber signal in the rear (a legal requirement).

      • These models have a distinct wire for turn signals, unlike the US/CA spec, which uses the same wire for brake and signal.

      • If you have an EU/Export model, your turn signals won't work correctly unless reconfigured to US/CA spec using a programmer like Tazer or JSCAN, in compliance with local road laws and your discretion.
